Montalbán de Córdoba is a Spanish municipality located southwest of the province of Córdoba (42km), in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Miguel Ruz Salces is the mayor of this town. In 2011 Montalbán counted with 4.586 townsfolk. 
 Nowadays, counts with 4472. His surface area is 33,66 km² and has a density of  132,86hab/km².

Montalbán is widely known for its cultivation of garlic, being the largest producer of garlic in Andalusia and bringing together 37% of the production of garlic Europea Unión.

• HISTORY:

The name of the town derives from the Latin MONTE ALBAN, meaning "White Mountain", evolving Monte Albano, then to Mont 'Alban' and finally is Montalbán. 
-Prehistory, remnants of pottery were found 4 km to the south of the town. At present the are in the archaeological museum of Córdoba. 
-3rd century Bc, near Montalbán was an old Roman city known as Segovia.
-210 BC: Romans and Carthaginians fought in a battle in the Second Punic War.
-45 BC: Julius Caesar and Pompey's sons fought in a battle in Caesar's civil war. Segovia vanishes from the historical record.
-4th century to 5th century AD: Ruins and catacomb are found in Tentecarreta 2 km from the town.
-1530: Fernandez of Cordoba established Montalban.
-1668: Montalbán had a population of 1040.
-1808-1812: French invaders burn the municipal file of Montalbán and the history of the town is lost.
-1880: Montalbán had a population of 3000.
-1910: Montalbán had a population of 3300.
-1960: Montalbán had a population of 4700.

• CLIMATE: 

 The climate is very important for the turists who visit Montalbán. It has got a very damp climate.The summer in this town is very hot and the winter is softy. Montalbán has got a mediterranean climate

• YOU CAN VISIT:

-El Calvario: the church is consecrated to "Nuestro Padre Jesús del Calvario" (Our Father Jesus of Calvary), whose statue is in the alterpiece and in its honor the townfolks celebrate the fair of August. Many migrant visit the statue en this fair. This monuments is very popular in Montalbán. The building is decorated in Neoclassical style.






















-Madre de Dios Hermitage: this church was declared a historic artistic monument in 1981, and a historical heritage of Andalucia in 1996. It's located on the corner of Madre de Dios Street and Ancha Street, it is a three nave church. Nowadays, the building is closed, although 






-Santa María de Gracia Church: it's situated in the Andalusia square, facing the town hall. The interior has a small altar dedicated to the Immaculate Conception which was demolished in 1964.

Casa de la Capellanía

-Casa de la Capellanía: situated in Empedrada street and it's an ancient hostelry for priest.

-Culture house: This building was built on La Paz Street in 1984. Cultural activities including lectures and social gatherings, public and official ceremonies, and general presentations take place here. At present the first floor is an adult education center and the main hall; the second floor houses the municipal library.
-Theatre: was inagurated the 23 of January of 2011. Capacity: 209 armchairs. The theatre is used to expositions, conferences, films etc

-"Caseta Municipal": is used to celebrated concerts, events...

-Library: The present town library was inaugurated in 1986.

-Tentecarreta Catacombs: is 2 km from Montalbán. The catacombs of this town are the only such catacombs in Spain. Tentecarreta has two galleries, crossed and oriented to the cardinal points.

• YOU CAN'T VISIT:

-El Mesto: was an old tree. During the 8th it provided shade, shelter and rest for peasants and travellers. The ancient tree measured 15 m in circumference, but it was severely damaged when someone built a fire in a hollow in its trunk. The Mesto had long served as an inspirartion to poets writers and artists. It was destroyed in the summer of 1995

The tipical foods are "salmorejo", "naranjas picadas", "gachas", "pestiños", "gazpacho", "sopaipas", "melón" and "sandia".

• FESTIVALS:

-August Fair:

The fair is celebrated during August 6–8, in honour of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Calvario; this is harvest time for area farms and the end of the season for agriculture generally.

-Romería: The pilgrimage is celebrated on May 15 in honour of Saint Isidore the Laborer. Almost everyone in town goes to Huerta Dios, a distance of around one kilometre. For around half the morning there is a procession headed by the coach of Saint Isidore's devotees, followed by other coaches, horsemen, and people in traditional costumes.

• TITLE:

"Life of Pi"
This title is very clear, but it isn't surprising.

• YEAR:

The film, "Life of Pi", was released in 2012. Ang Lee directed it.

• AWARDS:

The film is famous because it has got many awards like: Four Oscars: Best achievement in directing, best achievement in cinematography, best achievement in visual effects. 11 nominations. Golden Globes: Best Original Score -Motion Picture.  Bafta Awards: best cinematography, best special visual effects Afi Awards: Movie Of the Year.
Academy of science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Flms: Best Fantasy  Film, Best Performance by a Younger Actor/Actress.
Africa-American Film Critics Association: Top 10 Films Alliance of Women Film Journalists: Best Cinematography.

I am going to talk  about the mains actors.

- Suraj Sharma. He was  born and raised in New Dlehi, India. He was one of 3,000 to audition for the role of Pi in La Vida De Pi(2012) and he attended the audition only because his younger brother asked him to. Several rounds of auditions ended when Director Ang Lee chose Sharma because of his expressive eyes and
innocent appaearance. He act in "Million Dolars Arm" , "Umrika", Sharma receives a las Vegas Film Critics Society Award for Younght in Film for his perfomance in Life of Pi (2012) as well as an MTV Movie Award an a Satum Award.

- IrFfan Khan was born  in Jaipur. He was styfying for his M.A degree when he snagged a fellowship at (NSD) Mationl School od Drama in 1984. Theater and television kept him afloat till he appeared in a small role in Mira Nai's in "Salaam Bombay" since Khan was responsible for the acting-workshops for the children The Warrios, Maqbool, Haasil, Charas: A Joint Effort, Paan Singh Tomar, Knock Out, Gunday, The Luchbox and Rog.
of the film, Khan gained the reputation of a skilled actor from his roles in Bollywood movies such as

-Rafe Spall was born on March 10, 1983 in East Dulwich, London, England. He is an actor, known for “Prometheus" (2012), “Life of Pi”(2012) and “Zombies Party" (2004).

-Richard Parker: is a Bengal tiger who walk with Pi in the wreck.

Shravanthi Sainath: is an actress, known for “Life of Pi”.

• PLOT:

In Canada, a writer visits the Indian storyteller Pi Patel and asks him to tell his life story. Pi tells the story of his childhood and the origin of his nickname. One day, his father, a zoo owner, decided to move to Canada, where the animals the family owns would also be sold. They board on a Japanese ship with the animals and
out of the blue, there is a storm, followed by a shipwrecking. Pi survives in a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a male Bengal tiger nicknamed Richard Parker. They are adrift in the Pacific Ocean, with aggressive hyena and Richard Parker getting hungry. The hyena died. The wreck last 227 days. Pi salve his life and Richar Parker's life.

• OPINION:

In my opinion, “Life of Pi”, is different to others films. It's an adventures flim. His director, Ang Lee, has known win over the viewers. The film start with shots of a zoo and the viewers pay attention to the exotic animals of nature. I don't like that the writer interrupt the narration of life of pi.Ang Lee choose the actors very well because they know how to act. The film transmit you Pi's emotions and make you felt interested in film. The best scene is when Pi lives a storm because the special effects are fantastic. The films show the Pi's faith in God. The film learn me that we need to believe in something to keep us alive. But the end didn't like me because it's confused. Ang Lee should have cgosen other end. The animals, like the tiger, make the film more striking. Life of Pi is a film for all the public.
